GEVO FARM-TO-FUEL
Climate Smart Grower Program
Working together to help growers get rewarded for sustainable farming
The Climate-Smart Farm-to-Flight Project aims to help growers access market-incentives for supporting the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and low-CI ethanol.
Participating growers will be equipped with tools to track, quantify and verify the Carbon Intensity (CI) impact of their farming practices.
Why should I enroll?
The project is supported by a $30M grant from the USDA’s Climate-Smart initiative, with $18.4M dedicated to direct payments to producers.
If you are utilizing sustainable farming techniques already or have adopted technology tracking on your farm then you could receive additional pay through this program.
Who can sign up?
The Project is open to American growers in three locations including: Council Bluffs, Iowa, Lake Preston, South Dakota, and The Standing Rock Reservation.

Point Value Legend:
3 points = $0.04/bu
4 points = $0.06/bu
5 points and above = $0.08/bu
Outcome Based Performance
The following amounts are based on per crop-type CI reductions below the National Average:
- 0 – 5 CI reduction average for all bushels of the crop-type: $0.08/bu
- 5 – 10 CI reduction average for all bushels of the crop-type: $0.10/bu
- 10 – 15 CI reduction average for all bushels of the crop-type: $0.20/bu
- > 15 CI reduction average for all bushels of the crop-type: $0.22/bu
