WHY IT MATTERS
Demand for greater Food Security and maintaining Earth’s warming to within 1.5C are some of the biggest challenges facing the agricultural industry and have a profound effect on everyone. We were invited to attend the inaugural agriculture resilience summit presented by Regrow, which brought the brightest minds together in Chicago to collaborate and enact the plan towards fortifying supply chains and achieving a new state of agriculture resilience to meet these challenges.
WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME
The summit focused on:

- Collaboration within the value chain on ways to meet Green House Gas (GHG) reductions targets by 2030.
- Broadening the GHG focus to include water and other eco-issues affecting food production.
- Uncovering ways to strengthen the resilience of agriculture supply chains, ensure grower profitability, and create positive economic impacts on communities that lead to improved social outcomes, while encouraging Best Managed Practices to achieve more biodiverse outcomes.
The summit acknowledged the forward momentum demonstrated by the largest food, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and value chain participants with Scope 1 and 2 commitments yet alluded to only pilot or proof of concept projects for Scope 3 commitments.
